Creep curves are presented and analyzed. ZrO<sub>2</sub> nanoparticles (average particle size 100 nm) were added to the composition in the range 0.25 – 0.75 wt %. The resistance to high-temperature plastic deformation was significantly improved and was due to the interaction of the ZrO<sub>2</sub> additive with CaO contained in the synthetic periclase obtained by precipitation.
