Abstract

This project investigates the impact of viscosity on the evolution of black hole accretion disks through a comparative analysis between FLASH and Athena simulations. Our focus lies in understanding the role of viscosity in overall disk evolution. We present mass accretion rate plots that reveal near identical patterns in disk evolution when varying viscosity. We emphasize the need for additional code-comparison research, including exploration of a wider variety of codes and physics included to enhance our understanding and confidence in simulated models.
