Raising the Standards—A Woman’s View [History]

Abstract

Ranching instilled in me the values of hard work, problem solving, and community. From a young age, I worked with machinery, drove trucks with double clutching to shift gears, and noted on older cars the lug nuts on the right side had right-handed threads and the left side had left-handed threads so that they didn’t loosen and fall off. I did not realize it at the time, but these experiences would set me on a path of chairing motor standards for IEEE.
