After careful screening, 21 articles from five countries were selected, primarily using qualitative interviews and quantitative online surveys. Analysis through the Lévesque framework reveals the complex challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in rural mental healthcare. Discrepancies in approachability, acceptability, availability, affordability, and appropriateness were identified. Geographical isolation, discrimination, and a lack of LGBTQIA+-attuned professionals further compound these issues. Societal stigma, discrimination, and economic constraints hinder individuals from accessing and engaging in mental health services.
