Abstract

Background: Women have increased opportunities to participate in digital journalism, but racial and gender disparities are still pervasive in the industry. Analysis: Using qualitative, semi-structured interviews, this research examines ongoing experiences of women working in digital journalism in Canada from an intersectional perspective that attends to race, gender, and class. Conclusions and implications: In the context of an industry undergoing continual change and transformation, women of colour occupy more precarious forms of employment and work on more tenuous terrain.
