The quality of groundwater used as raw material for making distilled water determines the quality of the distilled water produced. Hardness level is one of the chemical parameters required for groundwater quality by measuring the amount of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) content. The Ca and Mg content in laboratory water can cause scale on the walls of equipment, especially with heating systems, which can cause damage to laboratory equipment, besides that it can hinder the heating process. The aim of this research is to reduce or even eliminate the hardness of groundwater as raw material for the distillation process for the water distillation equipment found in the Animal Nutrition and Feed Laboratory. Removing groundwater hardness is carried out by installing a water filter before the distillation process in a water distillation device. Water filters are made from PVC pipes and inside there is a filter media in the form of zeolite so that it can reduce water hardness.
