Abstract

There is no shortage of eye-catching headlines in this issue’s column. After 2023 closed with the first postpandemic World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC), the global manufacturing powerhouses and world’s operators gathered in February 2024 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC-24) in Barcelona, Spain. Much as expected, artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-based solutions played the lion’s share across the board. Incidentally, music lovers visiting the Spanish city for MWC-24 also had the chance to appreciate the unusual pairing of 5G stand-alone (SA) networks and Lang Lang’s unparalleled musicianship.
