Abstract

Mycotoxins are common contaminants in food and feed in Africa, and their occurrence presents negative health and economic impacts. One step towards control is the adoption of highly efficient extraction methods for effective monitoring. QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) has gained popularity among researchers for multiple mycotoxin analyses. Various modifications of the original QuEChERS method have emerged as means to achieve maximum mycotoxin recoveries from different matrices, such as cereals, animal feed, nuts, edible oils, and spices.
