Abstract

This article explores Garcilaso de la Vega’s “Epístola a Boscán” in connection to a broad conception of the letter during Spanish early modern literature. By analyzing this poem in consonance with letter-writing manuals, letter-collections, and its critical reception during the period, one can draw the conclusion that these types of poems follow similar patterns and tendencies.
