Hemodynamic, arrhythmogenic, ventilatory, fluid balance, acid-base, and nephroprotection issues are important considerations. The use of cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intrathoracic chemotherapy for extraperitoneal pseudomyxoma peritonei is an innovative and potentially curative approach.
