These technologies aid in understanding and evaluating sensorimotor and cognitive functions crucial for athletic performance. Sport neuroscience is advancing with the development of neurocognitive empowerment protocols, combining mental training, cognitive-behavioural techniques, and performance testing with neuroscientific devices. This paper introduces the theoretical background and potential of applying neuroscientific models to empowerment in exercise and sport science, presenting examples of protocols aimed at optimizing athletes’ performance.
