Abstract
The article analyses the thermal insulation characteristics of the recuperator heat transfer unit of the ventilation system of the public building. The results of the thermographic study showed the temperature distribution on the surface of the system elements. Heat losses are calculated by comparing the temperature of the "hottest" places with the temperature of the "coldest" places in the environment. The research was carried out in late autumn when the outdoor temperature fluctuated between +4 and −2 degrees. It is likely that the heat loss would be significantly higher during the coldest five-day period of winter.
