Challenges of Setting up a Legal Translation Quality Assessment System

Abstract

This article explores the challenges of setting up a coherent legal translation quality assessment system at a national – Romanian, and international – European level. It begins by providing an overview of the importance of accurate legal translation and its impact on legal procedures. It then delves into the current state of legal translation quality assessment in Romania and Europe and suggests the establishment of a legal translation control body, insisting on a number of responsibilities that it may have and challenges that it may face.
