As Head of Effective Prescribing and Therapeutics for the Scottish Government, Dr Alpana Mair is responsible for advising ministers on the safe, sustainable and effective use of medicines. Here, she talks to Joy Ogden about her work tackling polypharmacy and ensuring the focus is on what matters to the patient when prescribing.
