Abstract

A quarter of a million North Carolinians admit to experiencing opioid use disorder; over 1,000 die each year. Only 1 in 5 receives effective, evidence-based treatment. Medicaid covers treatment and will increase access for members with opioid use disorder, who have been found to fare better than those with private insurance.
