Abstract

The article is devoted to understanding the ideas that influence the understanding of the essence of the city and its image in the process of historical development. Through historical and comparative analysis, key changes are illuminated, including the shift from the ideal of social justice to individualism. The research is relevant in the context of the impact of technology on urban life; it can become the basis for developing strategies for sustainable urban development and creating favorable social conditions. Aspects that influence the perception of residents and researchers of the urban image are identified for subsequent analysis of the modern city.
