Abstract

Nearly one-fourth of the global population is infected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), and approximately 90%-95% remain asymptomatic as latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI), an estimated 5%-10% of those with latent infections will eventually progress to active tuberculosis (ATB).
