Abstract

The relevance of the research topic lies in the fact that increasing the level of sustainable development of Rus-sian regions not only acts as an administrative and legal task related to the fulfillment of mandatory legislative requirements imposed on economic entities and regions, but is economically beneficial in the long term, since it is based on the reduction of energy costs in the production of various products, leading to an increase in the competitiveness of individual enterprises, regions and the country as a whole. In this regard, the article presents a methodology for assessing the level of sustainable development of the region, which allows, on the one hand, to identify the main factors affecting its improvement, and on the other hand, to develop such incidental tools and mechanisms that would most stimulate the achievement of target benchmarks by regional authori-ties. The article contains elements of novelty in the statement of the research problem, presented methodol-ogy for assessing the level of sustainable development of the region. As a result, the work contributes to the assessment support of management decisions at the regional level as part of the implementation of sustaina-ble development concept.
