Reflection of Radiation from a Plane-Parallel Half-Space in the Case of Redistribution of Radiation by Frequencies and Directions

Abstract

Themethod introduced intheauthor’s twopreviousworks isusedtosolve theproblemofdiffuse reflectionfromasemi-infiniteplane-parallel scattering-absorbingmediuminthegeneralcaseof redistributionofradiationbyfrequenciesanddirectionsinanelementaryactofscattering.Asystemoffunctional equationswasobtainedtodeterminetheunknowneigenfunctionsandeigenvalues.Theinitialproblemof thesixexplanatoryvariablesisexplicitlyexpressedintermsoftheseeigenfunctionsthatdependonlyon threeindependentvariables(dimensionlessfrequency,zenithangle,andazimuth).
