Efficacy of physical therapies for recurrent corneal erosion of herpetic etiology

Abstract

94 patients were treated with recurrent corneal erosion of herpes genesis on the background of antiviral, reparative therapy. Physical therapies were added to the baseline therapy to stimulate reparative processes. The following methods of treatment were used: exposure to local reduced pressure, magnetic therapy, vitamin-protein baths. In a comparative analysis with a control group, results were obtained that allow reducing the treatment time, restoring corneal transparency «to achieve a high optical effect. All patients had good tolerability, no adverse reactions, and no surgical interventions were required. Keywords: herpetic keratitis, physical methods of treatment
