Abstract
The article problematizes the phenomenon of “cancel culture” in terms of its manifestations and effects in literary life, in the production and reception-interpretation of works of Western literature in educational institutions, in academic circles and in various militant interpretative communities that through political activism change the nature of public conflicts related to art.
