Superstitions and representations of the bridge in the novel "Devil’s Bridge" by Radu Paraschivescu

Abstract

In the communication I address the specifics of the sumptuous constructions and the superstitions related to their greatness. I refer to the novel "Podul diavolului" by Radu Paraschivescu (2022), which brings to the fore issues related to the pact with the devil and the curse of the bridge that ensures its durability and longevity. At the same time I capture the symbolism of the bridge from the idea of the place of passage and trial to that of the initiatory journey.
