Abstract

En el presente artículo se propone una lectura de la novela Chambacú, corral de negros, del escritor colombiano Manuel Zapata Olivella, desde el concepto de necropolítica explicado por el filósofo Achille Mbembe, para pensar el territorio del barrio cartagenero de Chambacú como una “zona de excepción” en la que deja de imperar el régimen ordinario de la ley. A su vez, se plantea que los mecanismos de terror del gobierno contra los habitantes afrocolombianos del barrio reinscriben las jerarquías coloniales. En la novela, la lucha de los chambaculeros por el territorio ofrece una oportunidad de emancipación política.
