During the reporting period, 15405 earthquakes were registered in the region, 52 % of them occurred in the Chui-Kurai zone of the Altai Mountains, for which a brief description of seismicity is given separately. The total seismic energy released in earthquake foci was 2.191012 J in 2018 and 1.171013 J in 2019. The slope of the linear part of the earthquake recurrence chart for 2018–2019 has not undergone significant changes compared to previous reporting periods.
