Various Innovative Methods of Assessment of Individual Psychological Characteristics of a Leader

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to discuss and analyze different methods of assessment of leader's personality traits, individual psychological characteristics and leadership style. Scientists and researchers use different methods to assess the personality and psychological characteristics of a leader. This research focused primarily on methods developed by prominent American scientists (Margaret Herman, James David Barber, and David A. Winter). As a result of the research, it was established that it is quite possible to obtain information on the personal qualities and psychological characteristics of the leader remotely, without meeting him. Marguerite Herman developed a method for assessing the personality traits of leaders, known as Personality Assessment-at-a-Distance. This method allows us to remotely assess the leader's personal qualities and individual psychological characteristics based on the analysis of his public speeches and conversations.
