REFLECTION OF HOME THEME IN TURKISH CULTURE ON OYA KATOĞLU'S PAINTINGS

Abstract

TÜRK KÜLTÜRÜNDE EV TEMASININ OYA KATOĞLU’NUN RESIMLERINE YANSIMASI ÖZ Çağdaş Türk resim sanatının tarihsel süreci boyunca, Türklerin ve Anadolu toprakları üzerinde yaşayan Türk halklarının sahip oldukları kültürel öğeler ve yöresel yaşam biçimleri, pek çok sanatçının eserlerinde konu edinilmiştir. Naif ressam Oya Katoğlu ise, Türklerin kendine has evlerinden çeşitli görünümlerin yer aldığı, “ev temalı’’ resimleriyle öne çıkmaktadır. Sanatçı ev unsurunu, Türk halk kültürünün yöresel yaşam değerleriyle birlikte, geleneksel bir toplum yapısı içerisinde yansıtmaya çalışmaktadır. Ressamın eserlerinde Türk halkının kültürel değerlerinde var olan, geleneksel anlamdaki manevi değerlerden çeşitli izler de yer almaktadır. Sanatçının, araştırma konusu kapsamında seçilmiş eserlerinde yer alan ev görünümleri, yöresel ve folklorik değerler yönüyle incelenmiştir. Katoğlu’nun eserlerinin dikkat çekici yönü ise, naif resim anlayışının minyatür resimleri çağrıştıran plastik anlatımına, çağdaş ve özgün bir yorum kazandırmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, Türklere özgü evlerin biçimsel ve kültürel özellikleri ile Oya Katoğlu’nın resimlerine yansımaları araştırılmıştır. Ressam Oya Katoğlu’nun, naif resim eğilimi çerisinde resmetmiş olduğu “ev temalı’’ eserlerinden çeşitli örnekler seçilerek, bu eserler estetik açıdan incelenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Kültürel temalarda üretilen bu eserlerin, sanatsal yönleriyle değerlendirildiğinde resim tarihimiz içinde görsel birer kaynak teşkil etmeleri bu eserleri önemli kılmaktadır. REFLECTION OF HOME THEME IN TURKISH CULTURE ON OYA KATOĞLU'S PAINTINGS ABSTRACT Throughout the historical process of contemporary Turkish painting, the cultural elements and local lifestyles of Turks and Turkish people living on Anatolian lands have been the subject of many artists' works. Naive painter Oya Katoğlu, on the other hand, stands out with her "home-themed" paintings, which feature various views of the unique houses of the Turks. The artist tries to reflect the house element, together with the local life values of Turkish folk culture, within a traditional social structure. In the works of the painter, there are various traces of the traditional spiritual values that exist in the cultural values of the Turkish people. The house views in the works of the artist selected within the scope of the research were examined in terms of local and folkloric values. The striking aspect of Katoğlu's works is that her naive understanding of painting brings a contemporary and original interpretation to the plastic expression that evokes miniature paintings. In this study, the formal and cultural features of Turkish houses and their reflections on Oya Katoğlu's paintings were investigated. Various examples of the "home-themed" works of painter Oya Katoğlu, which she painted within her naive painting tendency, were selected and these works were examined and interpreted from an aesthetic point of view. When these works produced on cultural themes are evaluated with their artistic aspects, the fact that they constitute a visual source in our painting history makes these works important.
