Abstract

The Electro-magnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) marine oil film recovery technology provides a new disposal method for the thin oil/oil film, such as the Bohai ConocoPhillips oil spill. It is based on the different flow states of oil, air and seawater under the action of electro-magnetic force, gravity, buoyancy and interphase force. In this paper, the currently existing disposal methods on marine thin oil/oil film are analyzed first. Then the operational process and its features of the EMHD marine thin oil/oil film recovery technology are presented. And thereafter the scientific and technical problems of the new technology are expounded with emphasis. Finally, the research works of the new technology are presented.
