Abstract

We propose a load flow technique as part of research on the optimal design and operation of hybrid power network. This is a new technique based on the Newton-Raphson calculation that can calculate and analyze the power flows of AC, DC and hybrid power network. The proposed technique is designed and implemented with MATLAB. After selecting IEEE’s AC 9 Bus, DC 5 Bus, and Hybrid 13 Bus model, we compare their performance through conventional AC load flow technique, DC load flow technique and PSCAD comparison simulation.
