As for consumers, 52% were female, 35% were born in Tabatinga, 51% were between 31 and 50 years old, 69% had a family income of 1 to 2 minimum wages and 47% had completed high school. Fish is part of the diet of 99% of the adult population, with 64% having it 3 times a week. At the time of purchase, there is a preference for whole fish and the preparation of 38% is roasted. The main commercialized species were Liposarcus sp., Mylossoma sp. and C. macropomum. The fish are sold in the form of bunches or kilograms, with prices ranging from 12 to 20 R$/kg. The per capita consumption of local fish is 49.6 kg/person/year.
