Conceptual views on the migration phenomenon

Abstract

In recent years, migration processes have been significantly stimulated and accelerated by the transformations produced in the post-communist space. In this context, the Republic of Moldova presents an example of a country with an intense emigration of the population, determined by the precariousness of the current economic situation. The data regarding the number of labor migrants from the Republic of Moldova attest to a certain state of mind, an orientation, which sees emigration as a solution to the problem of survival. It is obvious that the tendency towards emigration strongly marks the social-psychological atmosphere of reality in Moldova, as well as in other post-communist areas. The theoretical and methodological foundation of the study of migration involved the research of several aspects related to migration. Thorough knowledge of migration theories provides an overview of the evolution over time of the migration phenomenon.
