This review encompasses a wide range of bacteriocins used in food packaging to prevent microbial contamination. Abstract

The global population is growing, and food waste from spoilage and contamination is a serious problem. Modern packaging systems are crucial nowadays to address these problems and maximize the profitability of the food industry by extending the shelf life and storage of food products.
