Abstract

The associative course of the disease in heifers, caused by the hemolytic strain of E. coli and bovine herpes virus 1, is manifested by abortion and stillbirth. In all first-calf heifers, the retained placenta and necrotic metritis are recorded; 80.0% of the first-calf heifers die within a month after an abortion or a still-born fetus.
