The commonest causes of chronic hyperprolactinemia are a prolactinoma primary hypothyroidism, and drugs that elevate serum prolactin levels. Clinical signs and symptoms of hyper- prolactinemia are usually resolved when prolactin levels are lowered to within the normal range.
