[Massive infection of odontogenic origin].

Abstract

93 patients with infections of odontogenic origin are reported. In only 38% of the cases the correct diagnosis was established. Purulent inflammations of the submaxillary area occurred mostly (32%) followed by the infraorbital area (20%). Early signs of the spreading of the inflammations must be the indication to send the patient to the hospital to avoid complications.
