Abstract

Eradication of poverty is one of the world’s most important challenges because poverty has gripped a large part of the world. Poverty exists all over the world with its different intensity. This article will discuss the eradication of poverty in the Islamic context. Islam is a Universal and impartial religion. Which covers every sphere of a human’s life? From this perspective, Islam gives us the whole structure of social life. After migrating to Madinah, the Prophet ﷺestablished the Islamic state and also founded the Islamic Bait-ul-Mal. Prophet ﷺtaught Muslims to help the underprivileged and dependent people through brotherhood and hence established an exemplary socio-economic system. The main purpose of Bait-ul-Mal is to spend for the welfare of the people of the Islamic government. Therefore, it is considered the bank and national treasure of the Muslim people. In this way, this institution is considered the guarantor of the property, the protector of the trust, and the official treasury of the central institutions of the Muslims. Therefore, this institution plays an important role in anti-poverty in the light of Islamic teachings
