Abstract

With rapidly development of ocean resource exploitation, maritime rights protection and other fields of marine information acquiring, processing and sensing, modulation recognition of non-cooperation underwater acoustic (UWA) communication has drawn significant attention. The current modulation recognition method of commonly used wireless communication signal, generally need to obtain one or more modulation parameters as prior knowledge (such as accurate carrier frequency, initial phase and the symbol rate). However, due to the hostile UWA channel associated with complicated time, space and frequency variation characteristics, the above mentioned priori knowledge is extremely difficultly to obtain when the underwater acoustic signal modulation pattern is unknown. Therefore, automatic recognition of non-cooperative UWA communication signals is highly challenging.
