Abstract

Video bit errors or missing packets can result in freezing or distortion causing a severe loss of interpretability. Resilience options can mitigate the error propagation that occurs due to the spatial and temporal dependencies in the compressed bit stream. Resilience options can be invoked at the encoder, based on feedback from the application layer decoder.
