The port of Gioia Tauro has the potential to become a third-generation port in which, together with the transport functions, actions are developed to increase the added value of goods in transit. The paper examines how on the basis of the existing limits and weaknesses, actions and measures can be planned to achieve the goal of a third-generation port, summarizing the effects they produce with their implementation. The results obtained are significant because they allow you to face the decisions to be taken responsibly.
