Abstract

Despite previous studies suggesting a possibleassociation between atherosclerosis and asthma, theavailable data remains confined and isolated. Thisarticle delves into the correlation between these twodiseases. By scrutinizing the existing literaturehighlighting shared risk factors and biomarkers betweenatherosclerosis and asthma, it becomes evident that theinflammatory cells common to both ailments may play arole in the pathogenesis of both disease processes.Some research sheds light on the protective effect ofsome asthma medications and the harmful aspect ofothers. An increasing body of evidence looks at the ageof asthma onset and its association withatherosclerosis. Future research should focus on theearly detection of atherosclerosis and addressing thetacit connection between atherosclerosis and asthma toimprove the morbidity and mortality of those withasthma
