Sea Level Rise Projections: Trending Upward

Abstract

The science related to future global sea level is changing fast, and new research consistently points to greater increases in sea level than previously predicted. This upward trend suggests a need for greater urgency in preparing for inundation of coastal areas as well as greater urgency in international efforts to reduce the release of greenhouse gases causing climate change and rising seas.
