In this paper, envelope analysis based on a modified multiscale-based peak detection method is proposed. Firstly, a waveform database is built by use of the 3D waveform mapping technology; and then, the envelope waveforms are computed. The results are displayed on the screen according to the predefined envelope waveform intensity, with the envelope waveform updated in real time according to the variable envelope persistence parameter set by the user. Abstract

The novel digital storage oscilloscopes provides the abundant digital signal processing and analysis functions, including envelope analysis which plays a significant role in anomaly detection and fault diagnosis.
