A nonuniform segmentation approach based on Kohonen network for isolated word speech recognition

Abstract

This paper describes an algorithm for nonuniform segmentation of isolated words using a Kohonen neural network. This procedure performs a temporal normalization necessary to allow the multilayer perception neural network to be used to recognize the spoken words.
