Abstract

Due to the advancement in the field of information technology, medical image processing has become the most eminent image processing field in this era. The medical image needs to be stored and transmitted for telemedicine purpose. Due to the huge size of medical images, it becomes very difficult to store and transmit it over the network. Image compression is a significant toolto reduce the redundancies and irrelevant informationof the image for efficient archival and fast transmission.
