On the buffering condition implied by the stabilization of the output of switched mode converters

Abstract

The buffering condition in switched mode power converters is discussed, and the input characteristic implied is described. It is shown that it is possible to buffer the output from the input by control techniques. In such cases a power sink characteristic appears at the input terminals, implying a negative (small signal) resistance.<>
