A Partner Selection Strategy of Industry-University Collaboration Based on Social Capital and Network Risk

Abstract

University-industry collaboration is one of the fundamental national policies to build an innovative country in China. It has significant implications to select the appropriate partners for the success of University-industry collaboration. Firstly, the paper introduces social capital and network risk to analyze the partner selection of the University-industry collaboration. Social capital is considered as the attribute of participant itself in the University-industry collaboration, and network risk is used to measure the risk among the partners. Then, we put forward the objective function on the basis of quantization of social capital and network risk. Meanwhile, the strategy of partner selection of UIC is proposed in two cases. Finally, an empirical experiment is given to test the feasibility and validity of the proposed strategy.
