This paper proposes a new technique by employing a tripwire analytic technique and extracts the motion vectors from the digital compressed video files and then uses these motion vectors to work out, whether or not the passenger is approaching railway. This method detects the passenger's moving direction on the platform without using any additional detecting equipment.
