Implementation of chat application for Ginga middleware technology using second screen

Abstract

Currently, social media user interaction is surpassing the television interactive programs. However, with the increase of mobile phones and digital television receivers connected to the Internet, new kinds of interactive applications can be deployed. This paper proposes an application for second screen devices that allow users to send messages, and immediately display on a digital television screen running a Ginga application. Thus, we demonstrate the interactive capabilities of the Brazilian digital television system.
