MIGRAÇÃO RURAL – URBANA: EXPERIÊNCIAS DO MOVIMENTO MIGRATÓRIO NO MUNICÍPIO DE VARGEM GRANDE – MA NOS ANOS DE 1980 A 2000.

Abstract

The present study focuses on the internal migratory experiences of the rural-urban sense occurred in the municipality of Vargem Grande in Maranhão between the 1980s and the 2000s. Aiming to analyze these movements and their interference in the life of the population of this locality. Theoretically contributed authors such as: Ianne (2004) and Weber (2006). It is concluded that the process of rural-urban migration in the municipality of Vargem Grande in the abovementioned period reflects an expulsion of the rural population, one of the main factors being the lack of quality public policies for this part of the population.
