An Approach Towards Prepaid Metering System using PowerStudio SCADA

Abstract

Pakistan has been struggling in electric energy management with rising development of commercial sector. Electric energy is being utilized without any monitoring and control. When number of such cases rises then power quality is compromised to balance demand and supply. A prepaid metering system with energy monitoring using PowerStudio SCADA is proposed to extensively monitor electric energy in shopping malls and plazas. This system is developed by using RS-485 communication of energy analyzers having relay output. The whole system can be monitored and controlled from single PC.
