Useful features of automated test systems in the R&D laboratory

Abstract

This paper lists, describes, and justifies features that a research and development engineer or technician would benefit from having in his or her automated test system. Features are presented relating to data acquisition, stimulus, control, user interface design, configuring measurements, documentation, storage, analysis, and system integrity. This paper can serve as a guide in designing features of a laboratory test system.
